I saw a blurb about Open Coffee Club and liked the concept of like-minded people meeting in a casual environment to discuss common business issues. I go to other networking meetings--which I like and are fine--but the idea of meeting a Starbucks or a coffee house appeals to me.
So I'm looking for folks to meet with in the West Chester, Cincinnati area.
Cheers!
Jon

These introductions always start with something like "Hello everybody." That's a bit boring, and doesn't say anything. Now, social interaction theory would say that to get somebody interested, you have to involve them. An example: the most successful speed dating chat up line in a rigorous* experiment was, "If you were a pizza topping, what would you be?"
I'm not that good at pizzas, but here's a go:
"if you were a a 2D doodle on a piece of paper, what would you…

I am an architecture student in my early 20s, with a strong interest in historic preservation/adaptive reuse. I am pretty good with design, however my abilities are currently limited to still images. I am sort of tinkering with an idea for a niche social networking site, but I definitly do not have the know-how to set it up just yet.
I am also very interested in real estate investment/re-investment, and hope to start my own reuse/preservation startup in near future.

Over the years I've watched lots of friends and peers come up with great ideas for all sorts of new businesses or technologies...and came up with a few myself.
It's no surprise that many of them never got past the 'idea' stage. Then, no doubt months later you'd read of a new website offering a service or technology 'just like' what they had had in mind.
The challege is always the same.
The idea is only a small part of the journey. now, ask anyone...how do I get from Idea…

Found out about this from the
NextWeb conference and it looks great. I'm originally from San Diego but am currently in The Netherlands (Rotterdam). Amsterdam is quite close so I hope to make the OCC meetup on May 31st.
A little about me... Well, I'm a true tech geek and entrepreneur at heart. I'm in the middle of a startup as well over at
SugarStats.com which takes a lot of time but also is a lot of…

Having a great idea may excite the person who has it but great ideas are nout without clout -financial and contacts. I'm founder of two hot ideas (one B2B and one consumer) I'm finding it very hard to crack the nut of investment. Would like to know if there are any guys out there who have had luck with funding or can point me in the right direction. More than happy to elaborate on the ideas themselves.
