What's happening now to our students? It seems to me that many are taking the wrong path of life. Some are involved in riot, class bully and drug or liquors addiction.

Based on Durkheim, the motivation behind the student suicides at Cornell would likely be either egoistic or anomic suicides.

It's not hard to not feel lots of connection between yourself and the anonymous teeming milieu, in the dorm away from parents, or feeling so incredibly trapped by schoolwork and other pressures. If even a few loans worth into investigation could prevent these incidents from happening, it will be beyond worth it. Suicide is a second leading cause of death among students, be it in Ithaca, New York, any other school among the Ivy Leagues, or anywhere else.
