Place for people who love startups to hang out and meet

To find an audience for my blogs I have to stick to my niche. Or niches--IP telephony, enterprise information systems, and Toastmasters in the Philippines. I should approach blogging the way I do in Toastmasters in brainstorming topics and writing and delivering presentations. In blogging, I don't have to worry about delivery. Finding time to write for the blog is the bigger challenge. I have to choose to blog over all other interesting things I do.

Writing about food, showbiz, and politics gets a broad and mainstream audience and makes it easier to write. In my case, I wonder if anyone would read my blog at all. IP Telephony and Enterprise Information Systems are very highly specialized, has a limited audience and the challenge would be to bring it close to a mainstream audience. Toastmasters covers a broader and mainstream audience but then there's a whole lot of speaking blogs out there. However, they are not local. I can also fill in with Toastmasters subtopics--Mandarin learning and speaking, slide presentations, humor, and leadership.

Last week, I attended the Avaya Sales Seminar, Ignite Manila 2010, and the Alcatel-Lucent Partner Workshop. I could blog about them. I could also do product reviews of PBX's and other big boxes used in an enterprise. I could write reviews on the books I've read and audioseminars I've heard. Really, all I have to do is write about things nobody writes about.
