Manchester United and Everton Football Clubs have joined other leading sports brands such as NASCAR.COM and MOTOGP in adopting Screenza desktop technology, a service that allows rights holders to serve media directly to their fans desktop.
Fans of the two football clubs can now download the Screenza software Free of Charge and receive daily changing desktop wallpapers featuring their favourite players, rotating screensavers updated weekly, a calendar with dates of all the forthcoming fixtures, TV schedules and even players birthdays, the service also includes messaging and alerts functionality.
Once Screenza is installed fans can link directly from their desktop to the club’s site with just ‘one click’. Screenza serves as a constant reminder of the club’s brand and encourages regular return visits to their website.
Also featured at the bottom of fans screens are ‘one click’ links to sponsor or advertiser’s sites providing an innovative opportunity for sponsors to monetise and realise a return on their sponsorship investment. Sponsors and advertisers benefit from qualified traffic visiting their sites using a variety of methods dedicated to providing sustainable marketing solutions, including; tenancy placements, pay per click and affiliate business models.
The Manchester United service entitled UNITED 3 IN ONE has now been running for two weeks and has already proved to be extremely popular with their supporters.
Mark Hargreaves, General Manager of Manchester United Interactive, commented “We are pleased with the level of uptake we’ve achieved with this desktop technology since its launch. It is delivering enhanced and continuous brand presence to a world-wide audience. Desktop technology has become an increasing part of fan’s daily interaction with our club and Screenza software provides us with a hub for our daily digital communication with Manchester United Supporters.”
Mark Rowan, Head of Communications Everton Football Club, commented: “Screenza allows us to give something back to our fans. The free daily imagery, screensaver and fixture schedules adds to our stable of interactive desktop technology and helps fans feel part of the Everton community.
“We believe that commercial partners will also be delighted with Screenza’s ability to take their sponsorship campaigns from pitch-side to desktop.”
David Fuller, CEO of Lateral Syncing Limited – owners of Screenza, said; “We have been amazed by the uptake we’ve seen in football to date. Screenza has been running with major motorsports brands for two years, so we already knew how popular our service was with sport enthusiasts, but the success we’ve achieved with football clubs has taken the interest to another level.
