These introductions always start with something like "Hello everybody." That's a bit boring, and doesn't say anything. Now, social interaction theory would say that to get somebody interested, you have to involve them. An example: the most successful speed dating chat up line in a rigorous* experiment was, "If you were a pizza topping, what would you be?"
